We are getting into a
game day routine even though our game times change from day to day. We’ve played at 4:00, then 1:15, and
yesterday at 6:15. Today we play
Argentina so we get the last game at 8:30.
The routine includes breakfast, team meeting for films, practice, lunch,
pre game meal, uniform pick up, team meeting, depart for the game, GAME time,
then dinner back at the hotel.
The top two of each pool now play each other in the medal round.
Argentina was second in their pool to Canada so we will play them, as we
are first in our pool with Dominican Republic second. The other four teams will play out 5th-8th
place.
Have I mentioned that it
is winter here? In comparison to our
Iowa winters it’s not bad, but it is COLD here.
Last night when we left the arena it was 39 degrees and when I first
checked this morning 39 again. It’s a
heat wave at 43 now and I think the arena where we are practicing is about that
temperature. I’m sure that they don’t
heat the gym, as some of the upper windows are cracked open. Most of the players practiced in sweat pants
and hooded sweatshirts today!
